Market Adjustment on 2022 Tundras

Anyone willing to share how much, if any, they paid above MSRP when they took delivery on their 2022 Tundra? I just received my build date for next week for a supersonic red 1794 I ordered back in November. My dealer, who has only sold about 3 Tundras, is telling me they are getting a market adjustment of around $10K. Is this the kind of thing others are seeing?

Welcome to the forum @emoryr prices for Tundras are all over the place. I've seen people say that they paid MSRP from their dealer and I've seen other people say their dealer is charging around what your dealer's price.

This site is a great tool to see what kinds of markups dealers are trying to ask. Have you asked around other dealers to see if they're doing the same thing?

This Tundra 1794 is being sold at an even bigger markup than what your dealer is trying to get.

I managed to negotiate pretty close to MSRP. My dealer doesn’t do a “market adjustment” but rather smacks $3k in dealer prep bs on. Managed to get that waived. Looking at an April delivery of my SR (stands for Somewhat Rudimentary).

Have you had any luck finding a better deal?
New to the Tundra world. I got mine (LTD with TRD Option) without a market adjustment from Toyota of Seattle. The dealership 5 miles north (Lake City) wanted to add an $8k-10k market adjustment.

Congrats! Did Toyota of Seattle try to push a markup on you or just had it set to MSRP?
They are all at $5k over in Kansas/Oklahoma area. One dealership wants MSRP only, but sticks on $3k of window tint, clear bra, LoJack and other stuff mandatory to purchase vehicle. I guess I’d rather pay $3k over and at least get something (albeit over priced) than nothing. found One dealership that will do MSRP only but they’re small and they will not get a lot of allocation. If anyone knows a place in this area that will do MSRP please advise. Thanks.

Here in Massachusetts a local dealer is adding 5% mark up for any new Tundra model. Made them give me more for my trade in to try and offset the mark up.
Anyone know how long it takes for TMMTX to ship a Tundra after it is made? Mine was made last week (I have the VIN number) and it is still sitting in Texas. My Tundra is coming to our local Toyota dealer here in Greenville, NC and I haven't cut the deal with them yet. They tell me they will treat me right because we have purchased a number of Toyotas from them and I have a 2020 Tundra Platinum to trade in. I've been waiting since early December for my Tundra and I don't have the option of shopping dealers. This is a new situation for me as I don't have the bargaining power I usually have.

They didn't try. They are a no-markup dealer.

Have had experience in Middle Tennessee. Nashville Toyota North told me $5k markup, no deposits, they'll call when the specs I'm interested in hit the lot and the first to arrive gets it. I tried answering that all-call once but lost by 5 minutes. Though the guy drove two hours further than me, so I didn't really begrudge him.

Then found Toyota of Gallatin told me flat $2k over MSRP, can reserve with $1k deposit. Put money down and they said they would just send me the specs as things went into production so I could choose and reserve. Then they called to report someone had declined their delivery as it didn't have enough TRD magic. So from deposit to driving one home was a 2-week turnaround. With that luck I ought to play the lottery.
I picked up my 2022 Tundra 1794 yesterday, 3/22/22. Ordered in November. Built on 2/23. Color is supersonic red which I believe adds to the time delay between ordering and receiving.as they don't build too many red ones. Long time customer of my dealer, Greenville Toyota, Greenville, N.C. No market adjustment, even though they said they had been getting it from others. Paid MSRP of $65,909. 1794 with Advanced package & Running Boards.. Traded in 2020 Tundra Platinum (red), 54,000 miles. I have added my Tundra to the registry.

Did they by any chance say how much the markups were? I hope you got a good amount back for your 2020 Tundra!
