Do you have an order placed on a Tundra @PaulNY? Or are you going to place one?

@Jimmymaxx any word from your dealer on what parts will be coming in? I've been hearing late February to early March.

@PaulNY there seems to be a parts supply backlog and as that clears up, we should see a much quicker turn around time.
So if you've been putting off a new Tundra purchase, you might not need to for long.

Here is a update the dealer said they needed to t replicate the code since no check engine light was on even though they had the picture and the display gets erased when the truck get turned off T The error massage showed up twice and the code did get stored in the computer So I was told to drive the truck and if light came on return to dealer with waring showing. Fast-forwarded 5 days and 300 miles later stopped at light and this pop with the check engine light illuminated back at dealer

That sucks. Feels like a delay tactic and/or Toyota doesn't know the root cause of the problem. This wastegate issue is frustrating in that there seems to be a real lack of information from Toyota on the status of the problem and how many VIN's are impacted.

Was going to bring it in tomorrow, but I'm in the same boat as @Jimmymaxx Only the reduced power warning came on and no check engine light. I have and OBD reader and since the truck didn't register any codes I called the dealer first to see if I was just going to waste both our time bringing it in as they wouldnt't see any codes either and they wouldn't even know what to do. And since the person I spoke with didn't know what the issue was until I told her and she looked it up on the Toyota internal blog (which didn't even give her much guidance on what to do) she recommended I wait until if/when it comes on again and directly bring it in. She said she wouldn't speak with the service manager and get back to me. I only drove it a few miles since the light came on Friday night and since I turned the truck off and back on the warning went away so I don't even have proof of it and I didn't notice anything feeling weird.

I have the same issue currently. The issue came up in the 400km range and took a few back and forth visits with the dealer to figure out what the issue was with Toyota Canada. It has been determined that my truck has the wastegate issue and they will be replacing the entire turbo in 2 weeks (ETA). This being my first Toyota, I am not impressed so far as it's not living up the the reputable Toyota brand. I was told I am able to drive the truck until the turbo gets fixed, but I am feeling uneasy about that, as I do not want to cause the vehicle further damage. I can only hope that once this is fixed, the longevity of the vehicle matches the brands reputation. At this point, I think this truck can be the make or break moment in maintaining Toyota's reputation for reliability & dependability.

Sorry to hear your having this problem. I believe this problem is well know enough by Toyota that they will fix it without any further issues. Yes, please share your Tundra build date. Best of luck.

Has anyone else seen this as of late? I am almost 400 miles in, it was built April 26th and so far so good. I am hoping things have been ironed out before I got mine. 🤞
